We finally have winter!
I wasn’t going to complain about the lack of snow, that is until my husband and I each received a pair of snow shoes for Christmas.
Since Boxing Day we’ve been watching the weather, and keep track of the accumulation of snow. Waiting for the right amount for snowshoeing. Today we had our day. We also had a bit of a break from the blustery frigid cold that’s gripped us for the last week or two.
It’s also funny how a plan can come together. Nick and I had planned on going alone, but Saturday @Some_Eventful and I had received a tweet from @Paddle_In saying it was time to go snow shoeing. Once I mentioned we were heading out on Sunday, it all came together.
We we met at Laurel Creek Conservation Area in Waterloo. It was a place we spent a lot of time snow shoeing last year, so we knew the trails there would be perfect.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was calm and sunny.
Hoping that we have more winter days like this, makes for really enjoying the season. With plans to meet again soon, I already can’t wait to get out there again!
